Live online classes, right in your browser

An online-classroom service where instructors and students meet face to face in real time. Students don't need to install anything — any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, …) joins from a link. In-app PDF slides, annotation, and recording included; video and sound travel encrypted, and it works from a phone browser too.

Key features

🎥 Live classes

Many students join at once, face to face, with the active speaker highlighted automatically.

📑 In-app PDF slides & annotation

Open PDF slides right in the classroom and annotate on a shared whiteboard while you explain.

🧑‍🏫 Instructor face overlay (PiP)

The instructor's face is overlaid on the slides in a small window (PiP), so students stay focused on expressions while following along. Works with PowerPoint presentations as well as PDFs, and the shape can be square or circular.

⏺️ Class recording

Record the class screen and audio to watch again later — students who missed a session can catch up. Pause and resume are merged into a single file on stop, and an optional auto-save interval (10 / 15 / 30 min) protects against power or server failures. A recordings browser filters across courses and downloads several at once, and a trim editor keeps only the parts you want or cuts out a middle section and saves the result as a new file.

✅ Attendance

Join and leave times are logged automatically, so attendance is easy to check at a glance. The attendee list opens and closes with the 'Attendance' button.

🔗 Invites & share links

Invite students straight into the classroom with a single link, or share it however is easiest.

🌐 Browser, no install

An invite link is all you need. It works on a phone browser too, so students install nothing.

🔐 Secure sign-in

Sign in or sign up with a NetServ unified account (SSO). Existing accounts link automatically by email and passwords migrate on first sign-in. Protected with two-factor authentication (2FA), with automatic session refresh. Sign-in is shared between Meeting and Education: log in to one and you are signed in to the other automatically.

🗂️ Unified course dashboard

After signing in, a left-hand vertical menu takes you between Home and My courses, organized by semester. For each course, handle the syllabus, announcements, materials, weekly lesson plan, weekly (video) sessions, assignments, attendance summary, board, student notices and course settings in one place. Instructors can use student-view preview to see what students see (no view or submission is recorded), and deleted courses are kept in a trash for 30 days so they can be restored.

📚 Syllabus · announcements · weekly plan · board

Announcements, assignments and the weekly plan are managed as board-style lists (new post, select to edit/delete, detail view). Write the syllabus (copy a previous term's syllabus, or have it copied automatically when you create a course with the same name as an earlier one), post announcements (with pinning), and enter each week's lesson plan. For announcements and the board you can see who has read and who hasn't against the class roster. The course board supports posts and replies, with selective edit and delete from the list.

📝 Materials · assignments · attendance summary

Upload materials for students to download; publish assignments tied to a release date and a session (instructor attachments supported), and students submit from the share link without signing in. The attendance summary shows per-session totals and a student-by-session matrix, exportable to Excel. The class roster is loaded with a smart import of school- or academy-specific spreadsheets (automatic header detection with a column-mapping preview), the student list supports sorting and in-cell editing, and student notices go out by text message (falling back to email when there is no phone number). Teaching assistants' contact details can be registered too.

📽️ PowerPoint presenting · annotation (desktop app)

In the NetServ Education desktop app, present while controlling a PowerPoint slideshow directly (PowerPoint required). Annotation and the instructor's face are composited so students see them too; annotations are saved and restored per slide and can be saved as an annotated PDF (reopenable for editing).

💬 Live captions & translation

Class audio appears as captions and is translated into each student's chosen language. The default (free) mode uses each person's browser speech recognition and translation; when the instructor switches on server captions (paid, higher quality), the instructor's microphone audio is processed by external speech-recognition and translation AI (Deepgram, Claude). Server captions automatically pick up domain terms from the course syllabus, announcements and material titles (a lecture PDF can be registered too) to improve recognition, and Claude corrects Korean mis-hearings in context before translating. The caption window can be dragged anywhere, and server captions stop when the instructor leaves the class.

🎞️ Multilingual subtitles for recordings (VOD)

Recorded lectures are transcribed on the server (whisper) and translated into other languages. A progress bar, a cancel button and an estimated time are shown; students pick a subtitle language when rewatching, and instructors can preview each language or download the subtitle file (.vtt). Translation uses Claude and is a higher-plan feature.

📡 Large-class broadcast (HLS)

When starting an instant class you can choose the "large broadcast" delivery mode for classes with many students (viewers can pick a caption language; available depending on server configuration).

🌏 Student UI in Korean, English, Chinese and Vietnamese

The student-facing screens and classroom menus are available in Korean, English, Chinese and Vietnamese. In a course, students move between Sessions, Q&A and Replay tabs and post questions; on first sign-in they register a phone number once, and enrolling adds them to the roster automatically (non-enrolled participants are marked as auditors).

🔒 Recording protection · instructor download

Students can watch only: ordinary download, PiP and right-click save are blocked (this does not stop workarounds such as screen recording). Instructors can watch each session's recording and download it as mp4.

🛡️ Personal-data encryption

Two-factor (TOTP) secrets are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and off-site backups are kept encrypted.

🎚️ Video quality (resolution)

In Settings choose the camera publish resolution: High 720p · Standard 540p · Saver 360p (default 540p). Drop to Saver on weak networks.

Web classroom (browser)Available Open in browser ↗
NetServ Education desktop app (Windows)Available · 1.5.4 Download installer

Students join with just a browser. The desktop app is for instructors (direct PowerPoint control and more); it isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn on first run — click "More info → Run". Once installed, the app updates itself.

How it works

Education runs on self-operated SFU-based real-time media infrastructure. Class control (sign-in, classroom management) and live media (audio, video, slides) travel on separate paths; participants don't connect to each other directly — everything is relayed through a media server for a stable connection.

Pricing

The class basics are free on the Free plan; for larger classes, storage and AI, choose a paid tier billed per host (instructor), per month. Students (participants) are free.

These are App bundle subscription prices (shared across all app products); one subscription covers Meeting, Education, WebRTC, Classic and BulkReach.
